Saying the ‘L’ word for the first time to someone can be scary. Maybe the first step is admitting to yourself that you’re in love. But knowing whether or not your relationship is going down a more serious path can be frustrating, yet incredibly fun. And most likely a lot of things are happening in your relationship that scream LOVE but you’re not sure what it all means. Take note of these signs you’re falling in love:
1. You do things you don’t want to do.
When you think about spending time with your partner, you most likely don’t foresee the two of you in the post office or at the drug store. But at the same time, if they are moments which you can be spending with them, you’d rather take advantage of it. Having their company while doing the shopping and running errands makes everything better.
2. Some of your conversations have no meaning.
The two of you can talk about anything, literally anything. You have the strangest conversations about the most pointless topics, but you really enjoy them if you’re being honest with yourself. What’s even more, you like the fact that you can say whatever is on your mind and your partner responds to your very absurd thoughts or has even thought something similar themselves!
3. Bathroom talk.
Between girls and guys, this topic always seems to be avoided. Guys just like to assume girls don’t fart or poop. But when you’re in love with someone, the big truth comes out… and all parties are ok with it. It even becomes the topic of some of your funniest conversations.
4. Your partner can get under your skin to no end, but it’s not a game-changer for you.
Sometimes it may seem like they intentionally do exactly what’s going to bother you. And while you may feel like you want to rip their head off, you find a way to control yourself and verbally communicate your frustrations. No matter how many times it happens, you still wouldn’t trade your time with your partner for anything else. They may be buggers, but they are your bugger!
5. You make the relationship work, even when it seems impossible.
Life is busy and sometimes it gets in the way. But you and your significant other always find a way to make time for each other. Sure, sometimes you have to cancel plans and that means not being able to see one another for longer than you would like, but it also means your next reunion will be that much more exciting and fun!
6. Any amount of time will do.
A quick hug and kiss between commutes. A phone call between gym classes. Whatever it is, it makes you happy. You’ll take the quick “Hellos” all day, any day. Just knowing that they are thinking about you makes your warm and fuzzy inside. Yet another sign that you’re falling in love.
7. Intensity levels are higher.
Your conversations can get really serious. When you laugh, it goes beyond a giggle. Tears fall when it’s not even necessary. Your emotions are on fire when you are with this person and you don’t really have a clear explanation why. You just know that you are really liking it.
8. You’re reminded of them constantly.
The stupidest things make you think of them. And if it doesn’t make you think about them, you make a mental note to tell them about it. Every movie or TV show has a character that you relate with them. The song lyrics have you all emotional. Some wrinkle on a random person’s shirt even makes you think of them!
9. You’re insanely curious about them.
You want to know literally everything there is to know about them. You find yourself asking the stupidest questions about their childhood. What was their first-grade teacher’s name? What was their favorite… everything! No question feels stupid and you feel insanely comfortable asking whatever it is you want to know.
10. You are terrified of them.
Not terrified like you fear for your life, but they scare you because you don’t remember what life was like before them anymore. And quite frankly, you don’t want to imagine what your life would be like without them anymore. You don’t want to get hurt and it terrifies you to think that they may hurt you because you are vulnerable in more ways than one. But maybe, just maybe, this isn’t fear… this feeling is love. And most likely, your partner as the same feelings for you.
