Are you looking to spice up your date night? Mix in some of these aphrodisiacs and things are sure to get a little more steamy than normal. Although not all of them are 100% backed by scientific research, we can vouge that the following foods are some of the best aphrodisiacs for date night.

Chilies
Speaking of spicing up the night, red chilies are sure to warm you up. You only need just a little bit to get your heartbeat up which in turn increases blood flow and, um, arouses those nerve endings if you know what I mean.

Oysters
Oysters are one of the first foods that come to mind when we talk about aphrodisiacs. They are high in zinc, which has been proven to increase semen production and stabilize sex hormones. On the other hand, maybe it’s just the way the we eat the oysters that gets the sexual thoughts flowing.

Bananas
Although it may be an awkward fruit to eat due to its phallic form, studies have shown the potassium that it contains gives strength to muscles which can intensify orgasms. But then again, maybe it’s just the fact that it resembles something very sexual…

Chocolate
Who doesn’t love a little chocolate in their life? It is made up of two chemicals that enhance serotonin levels called anandamide and phenylethylamine. When your serotonin levels go up, so does your mood and sexual desires.

Pomegranate
This exotic looking fruit is super high in antioxidants, which will help the mood in all the right ways. Blood flow increases which in turn intensifies physical (and genital) sensitivity.

Asparagus

Watermelon

Alcohol
Alcohol in moderation can be considered an aphrodisiac because it provokes a relaxing feeling in both men and women. But be careful not to overdo it. Heavy drinking can have quite the opposite effect, reducing sexual functions. We recommend sticking to a glass or two of red wine. It contains resveratrol, which is also an antioxidant. As we mentioned with pomegranates, antioxidants stimulate blood flow and help get the juices flowing for what’s to follow.
